On March 24, 2025, Hon. Njingum Musa, Member of Parliament for Ngoketunjia North, urged the population of the Division to unite for the upcoming presidential election and strive for a 100% vote for President Paul Biya. The call comes as the region grapples with violence and unrest that have plagued the community for far too long.
"We have been pleading daily for an end to the violence; we do not want our children to die," Hon. Musa stated, emphasizing the urgent need for peace. He reiterated his commitment to helping those displaced by the crisis, urging individuals in hiding to come forward for assistance. "We have successfully reintegrated many before, and those who have returned often express their gratitude, acknowledging that, without my efforts, they might not be alive today," he said.
Highlighting the ongoing issues in the Division, Hon. Musa remarked, "Staying in hiding has no benefits. What we see now is armed robbery, which we need to address. This situation is not just about Ambazonia; some are using it to commit crimes." He expressed concern about the state of local infrastructure, stating, "Our roads are in bad shape because of the ongoing crisis, and it's hard to keep them maintained."
As part of his efforts to support the community, Hon. Musa announced his plans to distribute corn seeds for planting. "In less than a week, I will return to the Division to give out corn seeds," he declared, underscoring the importance of timely planting due to the farming calendar. "I will gather all the mothers for this initiative, and everyone here, including the children, will receive seeds to take home."
He also emphasized the significance of the 40th anniversary of the CPDM party, calling on the community to mobilize. "This year is crucial not just for any election, but for the presidential election," he said. "Please make sure you are registered on the ELECAM electoral register to vote."
Hon. Njingum Musa urged everyone to prioritize safety during the election season. "We must prioritize safety before, during, and after the election. Avoid unnecessary movements and stay safe." He concluded with a rallying cry for unity, stating, "We must work hard to give President Paul Biya a clear victory in the upcoming presidential election."
As the election approaches, Hon. Njingum Musa's passionate plea for peace and collective action resonates among the people of Ngoketunjia Division, signaling a hopeful push for stability and a successful electoral turnout.
