In a show of unity and commitment to development, the sons and daughters of Baligham converged on April 27, 2025, at the Yaounde City Council Hall to raise funds for the construction of a multipurpose hall in Yaounde. Organized under the Baligham Cultural and Development Union (BACDU), the event brought together civil, traditional, and political personalities, who collectively contributed 7,350,000 CFA francs.
The fundraising ceremony was graced by King Doh Gahnyam II of Baligham, who doubles as the Mayor of Santa Council, and King Gahnyam III of Balikumbat, the National President of BACDU. Other notable figures in attendance included Senator Enwe Francis, Hon. Kumase Simon, and government officials.
The multipurpose hall project aims to provide a central hub for Baligham activities in Yaounde, promoting cultural and development initiatives. King Doh Gahnyam II expressed gratitude to the elites and population of the Kingdom for their physical and financial contributions, highlighting the importance of decentralization and community-driven development.
The funds raised will be used to construct a story building at Nkolbosson, Yaounde, featuring offices and halls that will accommodate various Baligham activities. BACDU leaders, including Mr. Matinkang Peter and Mr. Babili Henry Voma, assured that the funds would be managed prudently, with every franc spent solely on the project.
The event also showcased the united front of CPDM elites in working towards development. Mr. Babili Henry, Chargé de Mission for the Northwest Regional Permanent Delegation, emphasized the party's commitment to development and encouraged attendees to register and vote for the CPDM to further development initiatives.
Several personalities were recognized for their contributions to development in Baligham, including Senator Regina Mundi, Minister Felix Mbayu, and Minister Paul Atanga Nji, who was thanked for his role in bringing peace to the region.
The successful fundraising event demonstrates the Baligham community's dedication to development and their vision for a brighter future.
