A heated controversy has erupted in Cameroonian football, with Bamboutos FC of Mbouda accusing the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) of attempting to manipulate the population of Mbouda.

The allegations come after failed negotiations between the club and Fecafoot, leading to Bamboutos FC's decision to withdraw from the Elite One Championship.

According to a statement signed by the club's President Delegate, Dechateau Kamdoum, Fecafoot emissaries allegedly approached commercial bikers in Mbouda and offered them FCFA 8 million to cause public disorder. Bamboutos FC strongly condemns Fecafoot's actions, describing them as "unacceptable" and "irresponsible."

"Fecafoot's actions are a threat to social peace and could lead to bloodshed," the club stated. "We call on all parties committed to peace and justice to take responsibility for preserving the interests of national football and social cohesion in Cameroon."

However, Fecafoot has vehemently denied the allegations, describing them as "intoxication, disinformation, and manipulation." The federation claims it was not approached for any negotiations with Bamboutos FC and that the club's reasons for withdrawal are unfounded.

Fecafoot also denies any negotiations with Bamboutos FC regarding the club's return to competitive football and asserts that all clubs in the MTN Elite One and MTN Elite Two leagues have benefited from state subsidies. However, Bamboutos FC has not provided the necessary documents, including proof of player salary payments.

The federation has condemned the accusation that one of its emissaries attempted to bribe commercial bike riders in Mbouda to cause public disorder, describing it as "slanderous and defamatory." Fecafoot has reserved the right to prosecute those responsible for the allegations, including Bamboutos FC officials.
