The Founder and CEO of the Centre for Human Rights and Democracy in Africa (CHRADA) emphasized that the appointment raises serious questions about the institution's neutrality, potentially eroding public confidence in Cameroon's democratic institutions.
Barrister Agbor Balla, popularly called, believes this decision undermines the country's democratic progress, particularly at a time when Cameroonians are yearning for genuine reform and accountability.
According to the senior legal mind, the Constitutional Council plays a vital role in upholding the nation's Constitution, guaranteeing citizens' rights, and ensuring electoral integrity.
