In a significant move to protect intellectual property and promote authenticity, the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) has entered into a strategic partnership with the country's Customs department. The three-year agreement, signed on April 2, 2025, aims to strengthen customs surveillance and ensure smooth customs clearance procedures.
FECAFOOT President, Samuel Eto'o, emphasized the importance of this partnership in safeguarding the federation's exclusive brands and products. "This collaboration is a crucial step in our efforts to combat counterfeiting and promote authenticity in Cameroon's football ecosystem," he stated.
Fongod Edwin, Director General of Cameroon Customs, pledged to strengthen controls at borders, track and report fraudulent imports, and support FECAFOOT in customs clearance procedures. "We are committed to working closely with FECAFOOT to protect intellectual property rights and prevent counterfeiting," he said.

The football federation will also organize awareness campaigns to promote the authenticity of its products.
A joint committee, comprising representatives from both parties, will be established to monitor and evaluate the partnership's effectiveness. This collaboration is a powerful statement of intent from FECAFOOT and the Customs department, demonstrating their commitment to tackling counterfeiting and promoting a culture of authenticity in Cameroon.
