The Community Initiative for Sustainable Development (COMINSUD) launched its Civil Peace Service (CPS) activities for the year 2025 on April 25, 2025, at the North West Regional Assembly. The launch, themed "Uniting for a Peaceful and Sustainable Future," brought together various stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, bike riders association, women association, the media, religious and traditional authorities.
Fon Nsoh Michael, Coordinator of COMINSUD, emphasized the importance of community peacebuilding, stating that everyone can become a community peacebuilder.
With over 11 years of experience in peace work, Fon Nsoh highlighted COMINSUD's mission to empower communities towards achieving development goals and its vision of a responsive society where principles and standards of good governance are respected and upheld for sustainable human and environmental development.
He urged participants to be intentional about promoting peace and propagating values of positivity, inclusion, tolerance, equality, and non-violence.
As the founder of COMINSUD in 1996, Fon Nsoh has led the organization in implementing various initiatives aimed at promoting peace and development in the North West Region. COMINSUD's core values of service, integrity, accountability, gender responsiveness, and teamwork guide its work in empowering communities and building influence for sustainable vibrancy.

In a keynote address, Ntiamba Obi Ntui, National Coordinator of the Civil Peace Service of Bread for the World, highlighted the need for proactive efforts to prevent violent conflict and build lasting peace. He emphasized the importance of inclusive approaches, development programs, and addressing root causes of conflict.
The North West Regional Assembly, represented by Hon. Kalak Flavius Boteh, played host to the launch, demonstrating its commitment to promoting peace and development in the region. The Assembly's Peace and Development Initiative (PDI) and the North West Development and Investment Fund (NOWEDIF) are examples of its efforts to empower youths and promote economic development.
The representative of the Governor of the North West Region, Djunang Marceliout, declared the launch of COMINSUD's Community Peace Building activities, urging all stakeholders to join hands in building peace. He emphasized that peace is a daily strive and that everyone has a role to play in promoting peace.
