As the founder of the Dr. Tumasang Swiri Foundation and the Network of Women Led CSO in Cameroon (NEWOLEC), she has made a profound impact on her community.
Dr. Tumasang's mentorship program has transformed the lives of over 500 young girls, providing them with guidance, support, and networking opportunities. By pairing them with women leaders, she helps them develop leadership skills, build confidence, and become financially independent. The program's focus on entrepreneurship, leadership development, and community engagement equips young girls with the skills and knowledge needed to drive positive change.
Dr. Tumasang's work extends beyond mentorship. She has worked tirelessly to empower internally displaced persons (IDPs), particularly young girls, by providing them with startup capital and essential skills to start small businesses.
Her organization has also trained women and girls in the North West region on how to transform cocoa into chocolate and groundnuts into groundnut paste, promoting economic independence.
Dr. Tumasang is a vocal advocate for gender equality, encouraging women to take on leadership positions and pushing for policy changes that support equality. Through her "He for She" campaign, she works with men to develop inclusive policies and projects that benefit both men and women.
Dr. Tumasang's organization prioritizes health awareness, particularly for women. Her initiative to teach girls how to make their own reusable sanitary pads using locally sourced materials has improved access to sanitary products and empowered girls with skills and confidence, fighting period poverty.
Dr. Tumasang's organization offers free medical consultations, providing essential healthcare services to those in need. Additionally, through the "One Child, One Pen" operation, they have provided back-to-school materials to over 1000 vulnerable children.
Dr. Tumasang's advice to young women is clear: believe in yourself, surround yourself with supportive people, and take action. She emphasizes that leadership is not just about titles or positions but about creating positive impact. Her mantra is to start small, be consistent, and celebrate your successes, no matter how small they may seem.

Dr. Tumasang's numerous awards and recognitions include being named one of Africa's 50 Most Influential Women, 15 African Female Leaders of Impact 2024, Women's Rights Advocate in Africa 2024, and recipient of the Leadership Award for Service to Cameroon 2023.
She has also been recognized as one of the 10 Trailblazing African Women Inspiring the Next Generation of Female Leaders, and has received the Cameroon Heroes Impact Award 2025 for Impact Woman in Leadership 2024 and the Lifetime Humanitarian Award 2025.
As a lecturer of English language at the University of Maroua and a leadership coach through her Authentic LEAD consultancy firm, Dr. Tumasang continues to inspire and transform lives, solidifying her position as a leader and change-maker in Cameroon and beyond.
