In a powerful display of unity and solidarity, a delegation from the Nkwen Mezam diaspora visited the Cameroon Embassy in Washington DC, US, on May 20, 2025, to celebrate National Day. Led by Honourable Dr. Nicolas Nguh Santos, a renowned Psychiatric Doctor and Politician, and Mr. Sylvanus Ngu Wara, the delegation's visit was a testament to their commitment to restoring peace and living together in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon.

As a holder of a doctorate degree in behavioral health, Dr. Santos has achieved remarkable academic excellence and has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the President Joe Biden Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022. His dedication and steadfastness have earned him a reputation as a passionate advocate for peace and development.

During the visit, Dr. Santos and the Ambassador had talks, where he received greetings from His Royal Majesty Fon Azefor III and the people of Nkwen in the Diaspora. Dr. Santos emphasized the importance of collaboration with the government in all areas, stating that it is the only way to achieve peace, normalcy, and development in the shattered regions.

"I call on all Cameroonians to be peaceful, exercise patience, be law-abiding, drop down all weapons, and collaborate with the government as the only reliable means to achieve development," Dr. Santos said. He acknowledged that some people may be frustrated with his changed political views, but as a Political Scientist and Psychologist, he makes decisions based on diagnosis and meta-analysis.

Dr. Santos' background is rooted in his humble beginnings as a son of Nkwen Bamenda, born to Pa John Santo and Mama Sabina Ngwetang Santo. He schooled in Catholic School Bayella Bamenda and went on to graduate as the first batch in History and Political Science from the University of Buea in 1996.

As a prominent figure in the Nkwen kingdom, Dr. Santos has demonstrated his commitment to the well-being of his people and the development of his region. His visit to the Cameroon Embassy on National Day was a testament to his dedication to peace and unity.
