Limbe III Mayor, Nseke Dibotti Luma Posed With Bimbia Natives.
The Bimbia Cultural and Development Association (BICUDA) has been banned from carrying out activities in the historic village of Bimbia, Limbe 3 Council, Fako Division, South West region. However, the community has thrown its weight behind the association's designated General Coordinator, Henry Njalla Quan, and reiterated its commitment to respecting the law.
According to BICUDA, the ban stems from a lack of administrative approval, despite the association's efforts to comply with the necessary procedures. The association's members had planned a meeting on April 26, 2025, which was misconstrued as a general meeting despite their claims that it was merely a courtesy visit to their Paramount ruler.
BICUDA's leadership has denied allegations of violating administrative orders, stating that their objective is to promote Bimbia's unity, cultural valorization, and development, without any discriminatory tendencies. Dr. Lulu John Billa, the Program Coordinator, emphasized that the association does not pose a threat to anyone and advocates for community development, not segregation or discrimination.

The community is calling on the government and administrators to legalize the association, stressing that claims of exclusionary policies are false. "Bimbia is for Bimbians" has never been and will never be part of their objectives, as they are committed to national unity and integration as Cameroonian citizens.
The controversy surrounding BICUDA's ban has brought attention to the Bimbia slave trade site, which has been at the center of speculation about potential development projects. The community has expressed concerns about preserving their cultural heritage and ensuring that any development is done in a way that benefits the local population.
