Cameroon to Host Maternal and Child Health Campaign

The Ministry of Public Health has announced the launch of the 1st edition of the Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition Action Week (MCHNAW) and the 2nd round of National Immunization Days. The campaign will take place from May 29 to June 1, 2025, across the country.

During the campaign, health workers will visit households to administer vitamin A supplements to children aged 12-59 months and oral polio vaccine drops to children aged 0-59 months. Pregnant women will receive preventive treatment against malaria at health facilities.

To ensure maximum reach, Dr. Manaouda  Malachie, the Minister of Public Health, disclosed that social mobilizers will inform and sensitize families in public places and compounds. He also emphasizes that key messages will also be broadcast through media and accredited digital platforms.

The Public Health boss invited the public to warmly welcome the teams from the Ministry of Public Health, indicating that all interventions during the campaign will be free of charge.

He further insisted that the campaign aims to improve maternal and child health outcomes in Cameroon, and urges all eligible individuals to participate.
