Centre Region: Nyong-et-Mfoumou SDO Bans Alcohol Sales at Funerals

In a bid to promote decorum and safety during funeral ceremonies, the Senior Divisional Officer (SDO) for Nyong-et-Mfoumou in the Centre Region, François Etapa has issued an order banning the sale of alcohol at funerals in the entire division.

The order, which took effect immediately, prohibits the sale of alcoholic beverages in areas where funeral ceremonies are taking place, including during nighttime vigils.

Any violation of the order will attract sanctions as stipulated in the relevant laws and regulations, including the November 9, 1990, order governing the operation of drinking establishments and the Penal Code.
