Yaoundé, May 1, 2025 - As Cameroon celebrates Labour Day, Barrister Akere Tabeng Muna, a renowned anti-corruption campaigner and 2025 presidential candidate, has issued a strongly worded message urging Cameroonians to join the fight against corruption.
In his Labour Day message, Muna paid tribute to the workers of Cameroon, acknowledging their tireless efforts to build a stronger nation. However, he also highlighted the challenges that still hold the country back, including unemployment, inequality, and corruption.
"Corruption undermines every worker's effort," Muna said. "It diverts resources meant for schools, hospitals, and roads. It strangles small businesses and denies honest workers the rewards they deserve."
