MTN Cameroon has launched the 21 Days of Y'ello Care 2025 program, a volunteering and solidarity initiative that encourages employees to participate in social actions benefiting disadvantaged communities.
This annual program, launched by the MTN Group in 2007, aims to promote economic growth and job creation by offering communities the opportunity to improve their activities through the efficient use of digital tools.
As part of this year's program, MTN Cameroon employees are mobilizing to offer 12 fully-equipped digital learning centers across the country's ten regions. Each center will be equipped with over 20 computers, a multifunction color printer, a video projection kit, a solar energy production kit, a one-year free connection, and a complete set of furniture. These centers will provide local communities with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with digital technology, a crucial tool for development and growth.
The selection process for beneficiary communities involves a call for projects, which closed on May 11, 2025. The top 100 most relevant projects will be published on May 22, 2025, followed by an in-depth study of the 100 applications, with field visits to select the top 30 projects. A public vote will then be held to select the 10 most relevant projects, with two special centers built in localities depending on the level of interest and real need.
According to Danielle Mbome Efoula, Executive Secretary of the MTN Foundation, "Our aim is to promote economic growth and job creation by offering communities the opportunity to improve their activities through the efficient use of digital tools."
The digital learning centers will serve as a point of contact between MTN and the beneficiary communities, hosting digital learning solutions, training opportunities, and incubation programs.
