Back-to-School Drive and Call to Parents

With schools set to reopen on September 8, Minister Mbah Acha seized the moment to distribute a large consignment of school supplies and uniforms to encourage parents to send their children back to class.

“As I am here preparing for school resumption by giving didactic materials, I call on parents to please send their children to school in their uniforms. The SDO has assured me of total security in Mbengwi. No child should roam the streets, they should all be in school. I have made available school uniforms for the first 100 students,” she emphasized.

Political Undertones and CPDM Loyalty

Beyond sports, the event carried strong political undertones. Minister Mbah Acha reminded the public that the CPDM government was the driving force behind both the competition and development projects in Momo division.

“All we are saying is that the CPDM government cannot empower you and also bring peace and development, and you go and thank somebody else. On October 12, we expect this crowd to show appreciation by voting for the CPDM and for His Excellency President Paul Biya,” she declared, linking political support to continuity in development.

She further cautioned against opposition parties whom she accused of opportunism: “I have been with you in times of danger and calm alike. Do not be deceived by those who only come around during elections.”Ndangsa Kenedy Akam, Mayor of Mbengwi.

CPDM Development Gains

On his part, the Mayor of Mbengwi, Ndangsa Kenedy Akam, used the occasion to remind the population of the concrete benefits that have flowed into the municipality under the stewardship of the Minister and the CPDM government.

“Our people have not only witnessed sports and cultural revival through this competition but also tangible development projects,” Mayor Ndangsa declared. He listed electricity extensions to rural communities, the construction of bridges, improved water supply systems, and the expansion of educational infrastructure as proof of ongoing progress in Momo.

The Mayor further underlined that these initiatives were not one-off gestures but part of a long-term commitment to uplift livelihoods. “This competition is a bridge between sports, peace, and development. It has brought us together as a people and reminded us that unity is the foundation for growth,” he said.
