Kuma Edison, CPDM Subsection President for Menchum North Constituency (Bafmen Zone), has called on party militants and sympathizers to throw their full support behind President Paul Biya as the ruling party officially launched its regional campaign for the 2025 presidential elections in Bamenda.

Speaking shortly after the campaign launch at the Bamenda Congress Hall on Saturday September 27, 2025, Edison described the event as a turning point for the ruling party and a clear signal to Cameroon’s youth to embrace their role as future leaders.

“Today is a very, very important day, especially for us CPDM militants and sympathizers,” Edison said. “The Prime Minister, His Excellency Philemon Yang, made it clear that these elections are most especially for the youths to take responsibilities. We must educate and sensitize our young people, because some still believe CPDM is only for the elderly. This message has now been passed loud and clear, the youth must take charge.”

Kuma Edison, an entrepreneur and international businessman stressed that despite criticism from the opposition and questions about Biya’s age, the CPDM remains firmly committed to its “unique and irreplaceable candidate.”

“Many are looking at his age and saying he is not competent,” Edison continued. “But age comes with experience. Some of the people criticizing him cannot even manage their own villages, not to mention a country of 30 million people.”

The subsection president expressed gratitude to the CPDM regional campaign manager, Senator Regina Mundi, and divisional campaign manager Hon. Wallang Richard, for what he described as their tireless work in preparing the grassroots machinery for the election.

“Politics is done in the field and with the people,” he said. “We will take the message we heard today, carry it to Menchum North, and ensure that our youth are confident and ready to step into the leadership of tomorrow.”
