The ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) rolled out its presidential campaign in Bali with an emphatic show of force, vowing to deliver “nothing short of 100 percent” of the vote for President Paul Biya in the October 12, 2025 election.
Addressing more than 1200 militants at the Bali municipal grandstand at the Ntanfoang squares, Dr. Wambang Alfred, President of the Mezam III Bali Campaign Team, framed the campaign as both a duty and a privilege.
“This is more than politics, it is service to our community, to our party, and to our illustrious leader, His Excellency Paul Biya,” he declared, receiving thunderous applause.
Dr. Wambang detailed what he called the “living proof” of Biya’s commitment to Bali, listing a series of key achievements: the granting of Special Status to the Anglophone regions, creation of the Regional Assembly and House of Chiefs, establishment of the Public Independent Conciliator, major hospital renovations, electrification projects, and multiple rural water supply systems.
He cited landmark road works, including the rehabilitation of Naka–Silver Spring Road and the Bamenda–Enugu Highway that cuts through Bali, as well as bridge construction, market sheds, youth centers, and the Bali Council Office complex.
“These are not promises. These are realities you can see and touch,” Dr. Wambang said. “When Bali stands with Biya, Biya stands with Bali.”
Dr. Chi Asafor Cornelius, CPDM Central Committee representative, reinforced the message with a bold prediction: “From what I have seen here today, President Biya will receive at least 100 percent of Bali’s votes. There is no room for doubt. You do not turn your back on the man who has given you more than 31 major development projects.”
Dr. Cornelius called on the population to combine faith with action. “On October 12, wake up early, go to church, say your prayer, and when you leave, make sure you remember only one name — Paul Biya on the ballot,” he said, prompting chants of “Paul Biya! Paul Biya!” from the crowd.
Wandum Ernest Bunga, Mezam III Bali Section President, assured the crowd that “strategies for victory are in place” and that every voter would be mobilized. He called on militants to collect their voter cards or, where unavailable, to vote with their National ID cards. “No excuse will be tolerated,” he warned.
The rally was marked by a strong youth presence, with Billa Vitalis Fokwang, YCPDM Section President for Mezam III Bali, pledging “100 percent youth support” for Biya’s candidacy. “I am living proof of President Biya’s trust in young people. I have been appointed three times under his government. This is why we call on every young person in Bali to vote massively. The white ballot with Paul Biya’s picture is our weapon of choice.”
Subsection President Nubed Kimi Valery of Bawock echoed the call, framing Biya’s longevity as an asset rather than a liability. “He has mastered the art of governing Cameroon. Giving him another seven years is not just good, it is necessary. We will not complain like the Israelites in the wilderness; we will give him the mandate to complete what he started.”
The message from the CPDM campaign was clear: continuity equals development, and October 12 is the moment to consolidate progress.
“President Paul Biya is like a ripe mango,” Dr. Wambang said, drawing laughter and cheers. “Why gamble on an unripe one that may never ripen? The wise choice is clear: let us harvest and enjoy the fruit we already have.”
As the drums faded and the crowd dispersed, one thing was certain: the CPDM believes Bali will once again deliver a resounding victory and is betting that its decades-long relationship with President Biya will be enough to keep the ruling party firmly in control.
The Mezam III Bali campaign launching wrapped up with the distribute of farm tools and farm inputs to the militants and sympathizers encouraging them not to only put their trust in office work but farming as the national leader, President, Paul Biya
