The town of Nkambe erupted in cheers and celebration on Wednesday as Hon. Ta Nformi Barrister Ngala Gerard, Member of Parliament for Donga-Mantung Central and one of the ruling party’s most dynamic figures, arrived to lead the second phase of the CPDM campaign for President Paul Biya.
The atmosphere was nothing short of festive. From the main highway to the commercial streets, hundreds of militants and well-wishers thronged the roadsides waving party flags, chanting slogans, and singing songs of unity and loyalty. A long convoy of vehicles accompanied the lawmaker into town, symbolizing both triumph and grassroots energy.
A Triumphant Homecoming
Hon. Ngala Gerard, who doubles as Section President and Head of the CPDM Communal Campaign Team for Nkambe, was visibly moved by the overwhelming reception. Speaking shortly after his arrival, he thanked the people of Nkambe for their steadfast support of the ruling party and of President Paul Biya.
“This outpouring of love and trust from my people is humbling,” he said. “It proves that Nkambe stands firmly for peace, unity, and continuity. Our loyalty to the President is a reflection of our faith in the progress he represents.”
Championing the Message of Continuity
In his address to militants, Hon. Ngala reminded the crowd of the government’s visible footprint in Nkambe and the broader Donga-Mantung Division — from improved road networks and electrification projects to community development initiatives that have touched lives across the subdivision.
“These achievements are not by accident,” he emphasized. “They are the fruits of visionary leadership under President Paul Biya. Our responsibility is to consolidate these gains by turning out massively on October 12 to vote for the man who believes in our potential.”
He called on the youth to resist apathy and to use their votes as a tool for development, adding that the CPDM has consistently invested in education, empowerment, and decentralization to give local communities greater voice and opportunity.
Nkambe’s Renewed Political Spirit
The campaign stop in Nkambe was not only a political event but a reunion between a leader and his people. The city’s main esplanade turned into a carnival ground, filled with cultural performances, traditional dances, and chants celebrating both the CPDM and its candidate.
The Mayor of Nkambe and several local dignitaries joined the campaign caravan, describing Hon. Ngala Gerard as “a unifying force whose energy and loyalty to the President inspire confidence across generations.”
Residents who spoke to reporters said the event reignited hope and reaffirmed Nkambe’s place as a stronghold of peace and development in the Northwest Region.
A Call for Responsible Participation
In his closing remarks, Hon. Ngala Gerard urged the population to remain peaceful, vigilant, and committed to the democratic process.
“Let us show the world that Nkambe is a land of peace and patriotism,” he said. “Our votes will speak louder than words. Let us come out early, vote in unity, and ensure victory for the CPDM and President Paul Biya.”
As night fell over the Nkambe hills, the glow of party colours illuminated the streets. For many, the day marked more than a campaign rally — it was a declaration of faith in leadership, continuity, and the enduring spirit of the Nkambe people.
