As the clock ticks down to the close of campaigns for Cameroon’s October 12 presidential election, Senator Enwe Francis Abi, representative of Momo Division at the Senate, brought his message of peace, gratitude, and renewal to the people of Widikum, calling on them to massively vote for President Paul Biya.
Addressing a lively crowd less than six hours before the official end of campaigns, Senator Enwe praised the CPDM candidate for what he described as his “fatherly heart” and unmatched commitment to restoring peace and rebuilding the North West Region.
“President Paul Biya is not just a leader—he is a father,” the Senator declared. “When our children were misled into the bushes, he chose compassion over condemnation. He gave them a second chance through the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) program. Today, many of them are back home, and Widikum is gradually returning to normalcy. That is the mark of a father who loves his children.”
He urged the population to show their appreciation at the ballot box:
“Let us now reciprocate that love through our votes. Let us stand with the man who has stood by us, the man who values peace, unity, and progress above all else.”
A Grateful People, a Renewed Hope
The Widikum population, visibly moved by the senator’s words, responded with chants of loyalty and gratitude.
“We dey with you any place wey you di go, Papa Senator!” echoed through the crowd, a resounding testament to the trust and affection the people have for their representative. For many, Senator Enwe Francis is more than a politician, he is a symbol of endurance and hope.
Speaking to reporters, one local resident who preferred to remain anonymous shared how life in Widikum has improved in recent times:
“We are now enjoying relative calm. Some of our people who fled have started returning home. We can farm again, sell our palm oil, our plantains, and buyam-sellams are back to trade freely. This peace is thanks to the senator, who has always spoken to our children and encouraged them to come out of the bush.”
A Leader Who Gives Back
Beyond politics, Senator Enwe Francis is revered as a true son of Widikum—a man whose service goes beyond representation. His consistent presence and community engagement have earned him deep respect among his constituents.
“Senator Enwe doesn’t just speak for Widikum in Yaoundé; he stands with Widikum here at home,” one elder remarked. “He feels our pain, celebrates our progress, and works tirelessly to make our voices heard.”
As Widikum prepares to head to the polls, the message from the hills of Momo Division is clear: gratitude, loyalty, and faith in the leadership that has steered Cameroon through challenging times.
“Tomorrow,” Senator Enwe concluded, “let us go to the polls peacefully and vote for President Paul Biya, the leader who chose peace over war, and unity over division. Our votes are our way of saying thank you.”
