Ahead of Regional Elections: CPDM Ngoketunjia Pushes for United Front

Ngoketunjia CPDM Bigwigs Immortalize Launch.

The Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) in Ngoketunjia Division has entered the final stretch of the Regional Elections campaign with a clear message to its municipal councillors: unity is non-negotiable, and total victory is the goal.

In a strategic meeting that brought together councillors from Ndop, Balikumbat and Babessi, party heavyweights underscored the need for discipline, cohesion and a demonstration of the political strength the division is known for.
Prof. Uphie Chinje Melo, CPDM Ngoketunjia  Campaign Team Leader.

Prof. Uphie Chinje Melo, the CPDM campaign team leader for Ngoketunjia, set a firm tone as she urged councillors to deliver a flawless vote in favour of the party’s lone list. She reminded them that success on November 30 depends squarely on their turnout and loyalty at the polls.

“We have a single list, and you are the ones voting. Every councillor is expected to cast their vote for our great party,” Prof. Uphie said, calling for absolute alignment within the ranks. Her remarks highlighted the CPDM’s expectation that councillors who constitute the electoral college for the regional vote must channel their responsibility into a united electoral stand.
Hon. Njingum Musa, MP Ngoketunjia North.

The call for unity was reinforced by Hon. Njingum Musa, Questor at the National Assembly and MP for Ngoketunjia North. Invoking the division’s strong showing in the October 12 presidential election, he reminded councillors of the precedent they had already set.

“We emerged first in the region during the presidential elections, and this time should not be different. I expect all 97 votes from Ngoketunjia,” he declared, framing the upcoming election as another test of the division’s political consistency.
Prof. Ghogomu Paul Mingo, Member of the Division Permanent Delegation of the CPDM.

Prof. Ghogomu Paul Mingo, Member of the Division Permanent Delegation of the CPDM echoed these expectations while turning attention to logistical readiness. He reminded the mayors who head communal campaign teams, according to a CPDM Central Committee circular, that their role includes ensuring that councillors are fully supported throughout the election period.

“You, the mayors, have to make provision for lodging and other logistics, ensuring that your councillors are comfortable,” he said.
Beyond the appeals for smooth coordination, Ghogomu emphasized the qualities of the CPDM list itself, describing it as inclusive, representative of Ngoketunjia’s social fabric, and aligned with the development aspirations of the population.
The successful candidates were officially presented, with incumbent members of the Regional Assembly using the platform to brief councillors on the achievements recorded during the outgoing mandate. They highlighted ongoing development initiatives and outlined future priorities, pledging to strengthen their collaboration with councillors and mayors.  Together, they committed to transforming the division’s “red zones” into “green zones,” a metaphor for stability, growth and progress.
