The Divisional Officer for Bamenda III, Ayuni Austin Sakah, has been recognized with a prestigious Certificate of Excellence from the Cameroon Climate Journalism Network, honouring his contributions to administrative development and national security.
The award was presented on December 5, 2025, at the Regional Delegation during the World Soil Day 10th Anniversary Award ceremony, championed by Tamukong Roland, Publisher and Editor of World Echoes Newspaper.
The distinction, part of the Cameroon Resilience Media Award of Excellence, according to the promoter and vision bearer celebrates public officials whose leadership has had a measurable impact on national cohesion, community development, and local peacebuilding efforts.
Speaking shortly after receiving the award, Ayuni Austin expressed gratitude for the unexpected recognition. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to know that when you’re doing your work, some people are seeing and you’re not aware,” he said.
“For a group of learned people to evaluate and bestow their confidence in a humble person is a wonderful souvenir for my family and me. I assure them that I will continue to do my best to serve humanity.”
Tamukong Roland explained that the Divisional Officer has earned a reputation for a hands-on administrative style, often emphasizing collaboration between local authorities, traditional leaders, and civil society.
He noted that his leadership in Bamenda III has been particularly noted during a period marked by ongoing security challenges in the Northwest Region.
Addressing the security situation, Ayuni Austin Sakah commended the resilience of residents and urged continuous cooperation with law enforcement. He emphasized that restoring lasting peace requires sustained community involvement and mutual trust between citizens and security agencies.
The Cameroon Climate Journalism Network, known for spotlighting individuals and institutions advancing resilience and sustainable nation-building, described the award as recognition of Ayuni’s “commitment to administrative excellence, development initiatives, and efforts toward national stability.”
The event brought together journalists, administrators, environmental advocates, and community leaders, marking a decade of the Network’s work in promoting climate awareness and responsible governance.
