Night-Time Motorbike Ban Imposed in Binshua as Nkambe Authorities Tighten Security

           Sub-Prefectoral Decision.

Administrative authorities in Nkambe Sub-Division, Donga-Mantung Division, have announced new security measures aimed at maintaining peace and public order in Binshua village. The measures include a nighttime prohibition on the movement of motorbikes and the closure of business premises during specified hours. Sources say the move was triggered after a police officer was shot and killed in Nkambe, a few kilometres from the central town on Wednesday December 17, 2025.

In a sub-prefectoral decision signed in Nkambe, the Divisional Officer for Nkambe Sub-Division, Boukar Djibrilla, ordered the restriction of all motorbike movements into, within, and out of Binshua from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The decision takes effect immediately and will remain in force until 30 June 2026.

Beyond the ban on motorbike circulation, the decision also mandates that all business premises in Binshua remain closed during the same nighttime hours. Authorities say the move is intended to curb activities that could threaten peace and security in the locality.

The decision further warns that any individual or group found violating the measures will be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with existing laws and regulations.

Local observers note that motorbikes are a major means of transportation in rural communities such as Binshua, making the restriction significant for residents. However, administrative officials maintain that the measures are necessary to safeguard lives and property.
