Hon. Enwe Francis Abi, Senator for the North West constituency, has strongly condemned the recent killing of members of the Mbororo Indigenous community in Ndu, Donga Mantung Division. The senator for Momo Division described the act as barbaric and unacceptable under both national and international law.

In a statement released to the press recently, Senator Enwe expressed deep outrage over the incident, stressing that Indigenous populations such as the Mbororo are protected by international legal instruments. He noted that any attack targeting vulnerable communities constitutes a grave violation of fundamental human rights and undermines efforts toward peace and coexistence.

“The killing of innocent civilians, particularly from minority groups, is a serious crime that must not be tolerated,” the senator stated. “Such actions run counter to the principles of humanity and justice that bind us as a nation and as members of the international community.”

The senator called on the administrative authorities of Ndu Subdivision and the wider Donga Mantung Division to immediately open a thorough and impartial investigation into the incident. He urged that those responsible be identified and brought before the competent authorities to face the full force of the law.

The senator further issued a stern warning to armed groups operating in the area, reminding them that their actions violate the provisions of international humanitarian law. He emphasized that crimes committed against civilian populations may amount to crimes against humanity and will not go unpunished, regardless of the circumstances under which they are carried out.

Reaffirming his commitment to peace, security, and the protection of human rights, Senator Enwe Francis called on all stakeholders, administrative officials, security forces, community leaders, and civil society to work collectively to prevent further violence and ensure the safety of all communities in the region.

He concluded by expressing solidarity with the affected families and the Mbororo community at large, urging them to remain calm while justice takes its course.
