MTN Cameroon has deepened its investment in digital inclusion with the MTN Skills Academy in Dschang, conducted in partnership with the University of Dschang. The program drew 1,792 registered participants, culminating in 1,430 certifications—a strong indicator of both high demand and high completion rates for industry-relevant digital skills.
Through expert-led sessions and practical workshops, participants acquired competencies in basic digital literacy, cybersecurity fundamentals, professional online communication, and digital entrepreneurship. The approach emphasized hands-on learning: secure browsing habits, responsible data use, effective digital collaboration, and the first steps in turning ideas into viable digital projects.
“Our vision is to enable young people to become active contributors in the digital economy,” said Wanda Matandela, CEO of MTN Cameroon. “Through the MTN Skills Academy, we are equipping young people with the tools they need to become key players.”
By bridging the gap between theoretical learning and real-world application, the Academy supports Cameroon’s innovation pipeline. It contributes to a broader ecosystem goal. MTN remains deeply committed to contributing to Cameroon’s socioeconomic development by empowering its youth with the skills needed to shape the nation’s digital future..
