Women leaders, entrepreneurs, journalists, activists and community builders from across Africa and the diaspora are set to converge virtually on Friday, July 31, 2026, for a global celebration aimed at recognizing women who are creating impact in their communities.
The event, organized by Target Peace, founded by Amy Banda, in partnership with She Thrives Global led by Ambassador Edith Abumbi, forms part of activities marking the 64th Day of the African Woman Fellowship.
Under the theme “The Excellent, Smart, & Supportive Woman – Give to Gain,” the gathering seeks to spotlight women who have transformed challenges into opportunities while encouraging collaboration and collective empowerment.
Amy Banda’s Target Peace initiative says the event will provide a platform to reflect on the journeys of African women who have continued to break barriers in leadership, business, education, health, politics and social development.
“She waters the harvest. She moves mountains,” organizers said, describing the event as a tribute to women whose work continues to inspire change across generations.
The fellowship will feature contributions from a diverse group of speakers, including community leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, faith leaders and professionals from different sectors.
Among those expected to participate are Queen Clarisse Douala Bell, Yaah Gladys Shang Viban, founder of Wewe Network Afrique Adaora Onyechere Sydney-Jack, Zimbabwean humanitarian Lumbie Mlambo, and Dr Karen Bruges, Global Chair of the Zero Hunger Mission.
Other speakers include women working in media, healthcare, politics, entrepreneurship, mental health, culture and advocacy, reflecting the organisers’ goal of celebrating women across multiple fields.
The event will also highlight the “Action Woman” initiative, which recognizes women championing positive change and encourages the public to nominate individuals making a difference in their communities.
Through Target Peace, Amy Banda has continued to promote conversations around empowerment, leadership and social transformation, using platforms that connect women and amplify their contributions.
The online fellowship will take place via Google Meet at 4:00 pm on Friday, July 31, 2026, as part of activities marking the end of the month-long celebration.
Organizers say the gathering is expected to serve as a space for networking, inspiration and renewed commitment towards building stronger support systems for women across Africa and beyond.
