Justice Mbah Acha Rose Engwari Fomundam, Minister Delegate at the Presidency in Charge of the Supreme State Audit Office, has called on the population of Momo Division to embrace sport as a tool for promoting peace, unity, and social cohesion.
The elite of Momo Division made the statement on Saturday, July 11, 2026, ahead of the launch of the Momo for Peace and Unity Super Sports Competition.
The tournament is scheduled to run from July 12, 2026, to 30 August 30, 2026, at the Mbengwi Municipal Stadium under the esteemed patronage of Justice Mbah Acha Rose Fomundam.
In a message issued on the eve of the competition, the minister urged young people, traditional leaders, and communities from the division's five subdivisions—Mbengwi, Batibo, Ngie, Njikwa, and Widikum, to take part in the initiative and support efforts to strengthen unity through sport.
Describing the event as more than a sporting tournament, she said it would bring together the sons and daughters of Momo in the spirit of peace, healthy competition, and community development.
The competition will feature men's and women's football, men's and women's handball, a marathon, and excellence awards.
Organizers say the event is intended to foster peaceful coexistence, encourage youth participation, and strengthen community ties under the motto "Peace and Unity, Our Greatest Power."
