Rev Dr Teke John Ekema is the new Executive President of the Cameroon Baptist Convention, CBC.
He was elected on November 23, 2024, after the outgoing Executive President, Dr. Nditemeh Charlemagne, declared he was not running for a second mandate.
It is the first time a southwesterner is taking up the position in the church after 40 years. The last was the late Samuel Becke.
Outgoing Executive President, Rev Dr Nditemeh, fought very hard for a wide range of reforms in the church, among them the war he waged against the endemic corruption in the house of God, the need to have Baptist Christians of the minority Southwest origin to also ascend to bigger positions at CB. He is leaving behind a legacy in just a very short time in office.
