In a groundbreaking move, the Fako Lawyers Association (FAKLA) has unanimously endorsed Barrister Edward Lyonga Ewule, a renowned human rights advocate, for the position of Vice President of the General Assembly of the Cameroon Bar Association.
This significant endorsement took place during an extraordinary meeting held in Buea on Saturday, March 29, 2025, where over 500 lawyers from the Fako Division converged to express their unwavering support.
Under the visionary leadership of its first female president, Barrister Nouvelliza Etta-Besong Njiminoh, FAKLA has consistently demonstrated a progressive approach in its decision-making processes. Barrister Ebah Ntoko Justice, Bar Council member and FAKLA member, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the need for dynamic leadership within the Bar General Assembly. Barrister Edward Lyonga Ewule boasts an impressive track record, with over a decade of experience in strategic litigation, particularly in defending the oppressed and marginalized in Cameroon. His dedication to upholding the rights of women and girls is deeply rooted in his personal upbringing by a single mother, a notable community mobilizer.
Throughout his illustrious career, Barrister Ewule has held several key positions within the Cameroon Bar Association, including serving as Protocol Officer for two Bar Presidents. He is also a member of the Human Rights Committee and President of the Subcommittee on Persons Living with Disabilities.
