The Senior Divisional Officer for Fako, Viang Mekala, has issued a directive to all divisional officers in the Division, instructing them to ensure the presence of all traditional rulers at the upcoming Unity Day celebrations on May 20, 2025.
In a memo dated May 15, 2025, the SDO emphasized that all traditional rulers of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd class chiefdoms must be present at the grandstand during the celebrations.
The memo warned that any unjustified absence would be met with disciplinary action, including a request for explanation and a disciplinary file being sent to the hierarchy.
The SDO's directive underscores the importance of traditional leaders' participation in national events and their role in promoting unity and cohesion in their respective communities.
