Former PCC Moderator Honored with Traditional Title


The Very Rev Dr Fonki Samuel, Former PCC Moderator Being Conferred the Royal Title.

The Very Rev. Dr. Fonki Samuel Forba, former Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon (PCC), has been conferred with the prestigious Akwaya traditional title of 'Nfor Nenop', meaning "King of the Sun of Akwaya". The recognition ceremony took place on May 31, 2025, at the Limbe I Subdivision.

The traditional council, led by President HRM Otu Ojong Asu Jean, conferred the title on Dr. Fonki Samuel in recognition of his immense contributions to Akwaya, his village, and humanity as a whole. The President praised Dr. Fonki Samuel's remarkable leadership and courage, particularly during an evaluation meeting at the Prime Minister's office, where he stood up for the Subdivision despite the risks involved.

In his response, Dr. Fonki Samuel expressed his gratitude and humility, saying he was "richly blessed and honored" by the recognition. He prayed for the royal blessings to continue enabling him to serve his people and the nation.

The recognition ceremony also honored business guru Ashu Beckline Ndoh, who was conferred with the title of 'Ekieni Mfua', meaning "Chief's Messenger".
