NtamCCUL President Derick Shu Overwhelmingly Elected RECCU-CAM Board Chair

Ndonwi Derick Shu, President of Ntambeng Cooperative Credit Union Limited (NtamCCUL), has been elected as the new President of Renaissance Cooperative Credit Unions in Cameroon (RECCU-CAM). 

The election took place during the 12th Annual General Meeting held at the Conference Hall of Ayaba Hotel in Bamenda on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Mongu Ernest Ningha, president of Santa Central Cooperative Credit Union Limited (SACCCUL), was elected vice president.

Shu secured 53 votes, defeating his opponents from Kimbo Police Cooperative Credit Union Limited (KimCCUL) and Nwametaw Cooperative Credit Union Limited (NwameCCUL), who garnered 16 and 11 votes, respectively. Before being elected President, Shu was re-elected into the Board of Directors with 63 votes.

In his acceptance speech, Shu thanked the electoral commission for the excellent organization of the elections and the members for the confidence they have placed in him. He outlined his vision for RECCU-CAM, emphasizing the need for good governance and core values to guide policy implementation.

The new Board of Directors will operate under the theme "Redefining the Path of the Mission and Vision of RECCUCAM, Building a More Responsive, and Credible RECCUCAM Network." Shu's administration aims to redefine the path of RECCU-CAM by building a more independent and economically strong network that is supportive of its affiliates.

Shu's plans include increasing income-generating opportunities for RECCU-CAM, making it more competitive, and improving governance practices to attract new affiliates. He also emphasized the need for collaboration with institutions such as the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Agriculture to benefit RECCU-CAM.

In his closing remarks, Shu called on members to give him and his team their support and confidence, stating that together, they can build a stronger and more responsive RECCUCAM network. He also expressed gratitude to AziCCUL and its president, whom he described as dynamic and hardworking, and looked forward to working together to make RECCUCAM a better place.
