Leadership Transition in Cameroon: SDF Chieftain Says Ready to Step Back For A Competent Coalition Candidate

Hon. Joshua Osih, SDF National Chairman.

In a significant political development, Hon. Joshua Osih, the National Chairman of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) party, has publicly declared his willingness to step back in favor of another candidate within a coalition, provided that individual embodies certain core values.

This statement comes at a crucial time as Cameroon faces pressing leadership challenges and just a few hours after the country's leader, Paul Biya convened the electorate for October 12, 2025.

Osih emphasized the need for transformative leadership, asserting that the nation requires a leader committed to genuine change rather than those merely seeking to supplant the current regime.

"Cameroon needs a new leader, not individuals who aspire to take the throne for their own gain," he stated, highlighting the importance of integrity and vision in leadership.

This announcement opens the door for discussions about potential candidates who align with Osih's vision for a revitalized Cameroon, as the nation stands at a crossroads in its political landscape.

As the coalition moves forward, the prospect of new leadership may signal a shift towards a more hopeful future for the country.
