As Cameroon inches toward the October 12 presidential election, the voice of youth leaders is becoming louder in shaping the national conversation.
The call comes amid growing disillusionment among Cameroon’s younger population, many of whom feel excluded from political decision-making despite making up the majority of the electorate. Dr. Tanyi’s message sought to channel that frustration into action, highlighting the role of the youth vote in shaping the outcome of this year’s high-stakes election.
“But he can’t do it alone,” Dr. Tanyi cautioned. “He needs our voices, our energy, and our unity in diversity. Let’s rally behind him and show the power of youth.”
The statement also emphasized education, jobs, and political inclusion as the pillars of Tchiroma’s campaign that resonate most strongly with young Cameroonians. Framing the 2025 vote as a generational turning point, Dr. Tanyi insisted that it was time for young people to prove that they can influence the course of the nation.
“The time is now. The choice is clear,” he concluded. “Stand with Issa Tchiroma Bakary. Stand for change, for a new beginning, and for a future that belongs to us all.”
With youth mobilization increasingly seen as a potential game-changer in this election, Dr. Tanyi’s message adds further weight to Issa Tchiroma’s bid to position himself as the candidate of the future.

As Cameroon inches toward the October 12 presidential election, the voice of youth leaders is becoming louder in shaping the national conversation.
Dr. Oben Tanyi, a prominent youth empowerment advocate based in the Southwest region has issued a clarion call urging young Cameroonians to seize their moment in history by rallying behind Issa Tchiroma Bakary, presidential candidate of the National Salvation Front Party.
In a declaration this Tuesday September 30, 2025, Dr. Tanyi reminded youths that the future is not something to be passively awaited but something to be actively built. Presently in Dubai, mobilizing youths to support him, Dr Oben Tanyi will return to the country on Saturday, October 4, 2025, to join the campaign trail.
“Our future is not something we wait for. It’s something we build,” he declared. “In these critical times, we need a leader who understands the challenges we face and is ready to speak and act. That leader is Issa Tchiroma Bakary.”
For Dr. Tanyi, Issa Tchiroma’s long track record in public service, coupled with his reformist vision, positions him as the candidate of choice for young people across the nation. He described him as a leader “with years of experience, a bold vision, and a heart for the people,” who is committed to ushering in “a new era of opportunity, inclusion, and progress.”
