“The Old Broom Still Sweeps Best”

In his welcome speech, Mayor Ekenue Samuel Osang of Mundemba Council likened President Biya to “the old broom who knows the corners of the house”, insisting that politics is a game of interests and that Ndian has long benefitted from the President’s policies, including the appointment of Chief Dr. Dion Ngute as Prime Minister and several public investment projects.

“Biya Is Our Choice”

The Ndian I Section President stressed that Biya’s long experience, wisdom, and advocacy for peace make him irreplaceable. “He is a beacon of hope and we must amplify our voices to secure his victory,” he urged.

Women and Youth Called to Action

Hon. Mary Meboka, Vice Speaker of the National Assembly, pointed to Biya’s role in advancing women’s participation in politics through the 30% quota system. She called on youths to abandon the armed struggle and return to classrooms, stressing that peace and education are essential for a brighter future.

Education and Development

Prof. Horace Ngomo Manga, Vice Chancellor of the University of Buea, reminded supporters of Biya’s impact on education. “Every region now has a university. Schools have more than doubled. No Cameroonian child can say they were denied basic education,” he said.

PAMOL’s Revival Under Biya

Tapea Solomon Mbile, General Manager of PAMOL, highlighted the President’s intervention to rescue the corporation, which had collapsed during the crisis. He revealed that PAMOL’s workforce has risen from fewer than 400 in 2020 to over 1,000 today, crediting Biya’s Reconstruction Plan for reviving the agro-industrial giant.

“Ndian Will Not Make That Mistake”

Closing the rally, Minister Balungeli Confiance Ebune hailed the Ndian people as a people of resilience who have endured conflict, displacement, and loss but refused to give up. He urged them to honour the legacy of nationalist M.N. Mbile, warning against opposition leaders who surface only during campaigns.

“Ndian will not make that mistake. Ndian will not be deceived. We will vote Biya not because he is perfect, nor because he is one of us, but because he is tested and has given our Division a place of honour in the story of Cameroon,” the Minister declared.

With chants of loyalty and unity, the people of Ndian vowed to deliver a decisive victory for President Paul Biya on October 12.
