The 41st anniversary of the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (CPDM) was commemorated in the North West Region with renewed calls for unity, youth engagement, and continued support for national leadership. The event, held at the Bamenda Congress Hall, brought together top party officials, militants, and supporters to celebrate over four decades of political continuity under the leadership of Paul Biya, who also serves as the party’s National Chairman.

Speaking shortly after the ceremony, Dr. Clement Bonuh Che, Chargé de Mission for the CPDM in Ngoketunjia and Vice YCPDM Section President for Ngoketunjia I, Ndop, underscored the critical role of youth in sustaining the party’s vision. He also highlighted his administrative responsibilities at the University of Yaoundé I, where he serves as assistant head of service for programs and diplomas at the Directorate of Academic Affairs and Cooperation.

Dr. Bonuh Che emphasized that young people in the North West Region remain firmly aligned with President Biya’s policies and promises, particularly those targeting youth and women's empowerment. According to him, this support was clearly demonstrated during the October 12, 2025, presidential election, where the Ngoketunjia Division reportedly delivered an overwhelming majority of votes in favour of the incumbent.

“The youths have shown unwavering commitment,” Dr. Che noted, adding that their participation significantly contributed to the election outcome. He described the youth demographic as the backbone of electoral mobilization, reinforcing the party’s grassroots strength.

Reflecting on the significance of the 41st anniversary, Dr. Bonuh Che outlined three key pillars: resilience, development, and unity. He stated that the CPDM’s longevity reflects its ability to adapt and maintain relevance while consistently winning elections since its creation.

He also pointed to ongoing development initiatives as evidence of the party’s governance record. “The party’s strength lies in its unity and shared vision for peace and development,” he said, expressing confidence that continued youth and women's involvement could sustain the party’s influence well into the future.

The anniversary celebrations in Bamenda were officially launched by Philemon Yang, Head of the Permanent Regional Delegations of the CPDM Central Committee for the North West Region. His presence underscored the importance of the region in the party’s national structure.

As festivities concluded, party supporters reiterated their commitment to the ideals of unity, stability, and progress, marking the milestone as both a celebration of past achievements and a projection of future ambitions.
