Militants of the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (CPDM) in Mezam II Santa gathered at the Women’s Empowerment Centre in Santa on Saturday, March 21, 2026, for a joint section conference focused on strengthening internal cohesion and preparing for upcoming municipal and legislative elections.
The meeting, organized by the CPDM Mezam II Section Santa, also served as an opportunity to thank party supporters for what officials described as a landslide victory in the recent presidential elections.
At the heart of the conference was a keynote presentation delivered by Ntum-Kwifon Che Linidolf Ndongnyam, former member of the North West Regional Assembly and chief executive officer of Group Merdolf. His address centered on the theme "Techniques of Mobilizing Funds for Party Events in Mezam II Santa.”
Storytelling Sets the Tone
Opening his presentation, the philantropist and business magnate used a symbolic story of a village hunter who succeeded through community support to illustrate the importance of collective effort. According to him, the hunter’s rise from winning a trade fair to becoming a deputy mayor was made possible by unity, transparency, and a clear vision. He drew parallels between the story and the current political context in Mezam II, calling on party members to adopt similar values in mobilizing financial resources.
Funding Within Party Regulations
Ntum-Kwifon Che Linidolf reminded participants that all fundraising initiatives must comply with Article 29 of the CPDM Basic Text. He outlined recognized sources of funding, including membership dues, annual subscriptions, voluntary contributions, proceeds from party activities, and public financing. He also noted that donations and legacies require approval from the party’s Central Committee, adding that the committee may support sections facing financial constraints when necessary.
Emphasis on Grassroots Contributions
A significant portion of the presentation focused on internal fundraising through structured contributions. He demonstrated how executives at various levels, section, subsection, and branch could collectively generate substantial funds. Ntum-Kwifon Che Linidolf explained that, given the number of officials across CPDM, WCPDM, and YCPDM structures, even modest individual contributions could amount to millions of francs to support party events.
Strategies for Resource Mobilization
The speaker outlined several practical approaches to fundraising. These included the use of formal appeal letters detailing project needs and budgets, as well as direct engagement with potential donors through visits and phone calls. He stressed the importance of selecting credible and respected representatives when approaching donors, noting that trust plays a key role in successful fundraising. Che Linidolf Ndongnyam also highlighted the value of gratitude, encouraging party leaders to publicly acknowledge donors through awards and recognition at major events.
Other proposed strategies included generating revenue from the sale of party-branded items such as T-shirts and caps, investing in rental properties like a party house, and organizing themed local events to attract financial support.
Role of Influential Figures
The introduction of patrons and matrons was presented as another avenue for mobilizing funds. Ntum-Kwifon Che Linidolf Ndongnyam said individuals with strong reputations could either make direct contributions or lead fundraising campaigns on behalf of the section.
Call for Transparency and Accountability
In closing, the senior CPDM Mezam II Section party official emphasized transparency and accountability as essential principles in managing party funds. He urged leaders to maintain clear records and ensure that all contributions are properly accounted for. “No amount is too small,” he said, encouraging inclusiveness in fundraising efforts and active participation from all members.
Looking Ahead
The conference ended with renewed commitment from party officials and militants to implement the proposed strategies ahead of the twin elections. Participants expressed confidence that improved financial mobilization would strengthen the party’s grassroots operations in Mezam II Santa. As preparations intensify, party leaders say unity and effective resource management will be critical in sustaining their political momentum.
