In the wake of devastating floods that have claimed three lives in Bamenda III Subdivision, global peace champion Omam Esther has issued a heartfelt message of sympathy and solidarity, calling for unity and sustained support for affected communities.
Omam Esther, who serves as the executive director of Reach Out Cameroon, an NGO headquartered in the Southwest region and is widely recognized for her global peace efforts, expressed “deep sorrow” upon learning of the tragedy. The incident has left many residents grieving, with five others recovering after surviving the devastating incident.
“My dear brothers and sisters of Bamenda,” her message began, addressing the community directly in a tone of compassion and shared humanity. She acknowledged the profound emotional and physical toll of the disaster, emphasizing that those affected are not alone in their suffering.
“To the families who have lost their loved ones, we extend our heartfelt condolences,” she stated, underscoring the collective grief felt across the region and beyond. “No words can truly capture the pain of such loss, but please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.”
Beyond condolences, the executive director highlighted the resilience of survivors and the importance of communal strength in times of crisis. She extended compassion to those hospitalized, noting that their pain is both recognized and shared.
The peace champion also paid tribute to first responders, rescue teams, and local community members who have mobilized to provide immediate assistance. “In moments like this, our shared humanity and unity matter most,” she said, commending efforts that have brought relief and hope amid devastation.
