Six players from Cameroonian top-flight side Victoria United have been suspended over alleged match manipulation following the club’s recent defeat in the MTN Elite One championship.
Laarry Times uncovered that club president Valentin Nkwain sanctioned the players shortly after Victoria United’s 4-1 loss to Aigle de la Menoua.
Those suspended include team captain Nguefack Laurian, vice-captain Brayan Tchana Nana, as well as De Lessa Osogo, Agbor Meldin, Sterly Peto, and Mouelle Yobi Jason.

The suspensions come at a difficult moment for Victoria United, whose heavy defeat raised concerns among supporters and club officials amid a challenging league campaign.
Match manipulation allegations remain one of the most serious offenses in professional football, with sanctions ranging from suspensions and fines to lifetime bans if wrongdoing is proven.
Neither the suspended players nor their representatives had publicly responded to the allegations at the time of publication.
