The Bambalang–Bafanji road in Ngoketunjia Division of Cameroon’s North-West Region continuous to deteriorate, with several sections seriously eroded and at risk of collapsing.
The worsening condition of the stretch of road is making travel increasingly difficult for bike riders, commercial drivers and other road users. Some portions have been severely damaged, heightening the risk of accidents and slowing movement along the route.
According to a sister media organ,residents say the poor state of the road is also disrupting the transportation of passengers, farm produce and other goods. Longer travel times and rising transport costs are placing additional pressure on businesses and communities that depend on the corridor.
The Bambalang–Bafanji road is an important link between Cameroon’s North-West and West regions. Its continued decline is affecting trade, local economic activity and the daily movement of people between the two regions.
The road users are calling on the government to carry out urgent rehabilitation works before the road becomes completely impassable.
