ICT University Graduates Finally Receive UB-Approved Certificates

Hundreds of graduates from ICT University have received certificates approved by the University of Buea, bringing an end to a prolonged certification dispute that had left many former students in uncertainty.

The certificates were presented during a ceremony at ICT University's Yaoundé campus on Friday, July 31, 2026, marking what university officials described as the successful resolution of a longstanding administrative impasse.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the ICT University Board of Trustees, Prof. Victor Mbarika, said the breakthrough was achieved through collaboration between the Government of Cameroon, the University of Buea, and ICT University.

He thanked the Presidency, the Prime Minister's Office, and the Ministry of Higher Education for supporting efforts that led to the agreement, describing the outcome as a peaceful resolution that restores confidence in the institution.

University officials said the agreement establishes a new framework for cooperation between ICT University and the University of Buea aimed at preventing similar challenges in the future.

The ceremony began with a thanksgiving service before the symbolic presentation of certificates to graduates who had waited for official recognition of their academic qualifications.

Delivering a keynote address, Apostle John Chi urged the graduates to pursue excellence, remain committed to lifelong learning, and use their knowledge to serve society. 

He described the certificates as more than academic documents, saying integrity and character would ultimately determine their success.

Officials said the resolution represents more than the settlement of an administrative dispute, describing it as a renewed partnership between the two institutions built on dialogue, transparency, and shared responsibility.

ICT University, a higher education institution accredited by Cameroon's Ministry of Higher Education, says it serves more than 15,000 students through on-campus and online programs and continues to expand international partnerships in technology and digital agriculture.
