Preparations for the 7th edition of the TAKAD AWARDS have entered a new phase, with Cameroon hosting a high-level delegation from Gabon and Côte d’Ivoire from August 19 to 26, 2026.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Gabon in December. It will bring together participants from 17 African countries under the theme, “Africa, a continent of the future and of opportunities for humanity.”
The 2026 edition, dubbed “The grand ball of African geniuses,” seeks to celebrate Africans making an impact in business, culture, creativity, and other fields.
The delegation arriving in Douala is led by Hercule Nse Souala, President of the Organizing Committee, and Lassane Oulare, Vice President. Queen Eteme, Honorary President of the International Organizing Committee and President of the Cameroon Local Committee, will join them.
The Cameroon mission is aimed at strengthening partnerships and mobilizing institutional, economic, cultural, and media stakeholders ahead of the December event.
A major highlight will be a press conference and meet-and-greet on Saturday, August 22, at Bano Palace in Akwa, Douala.
The event will be moderated by Senior CRTV Reporter Amy Banda, who was named Best TV Presenter of the Year at the previous edition.
Pan-African speakers will discuss the state of African excellence, while business operators and other stakeholders will have an opportunity to network, exchange ideas, and explore partnerships.
The program will also include meetings with traditional rulers, government and municipal officials, media executives, economic operators, and cultural organizations, as well as a media tour.
The delegation will leave Douala on August 26 for Yaoundé, the next stop on the national preparatory tour.
With 17 countries involved, organizers say the 7th TAKAD AWARDS will not only honour African excellence but also create a platform for stronger connections and collaboration across the continent.
