Barrister Emmanuel Nsahlai, licensed to practice law in both Cameroon and California, USA, has stepped up his international legal campaign against alleged foreign-based Ambazonian networks, with fresh actions targeting individuals and support structures in the United Kingdom, Canada and South Africa.
The latest moves form part of what Barrister Emmanuel Nsahlai, through the Nsahlai Law Firm, describes as his “3D Strategy”, Disrupt, Dismantle and Defeat, aimed at disrupting alleged overseas networks accused of financing, facilitating or supporting violence linked to the armed conflict in Cameroon’s North-West and South-West regions.
According to the California State Bar's certified specialist, the actions have been pursued in stages, with South Africa targeted around July 20, 2026, Canada around August 20, 2026, and the United Kingdom on September 24, 2026.
Nsahlai and his legal team have made representations to authorities in the three countries, including law-enforcement and counter-terrorism agencies, as well as through diplomatic channels.
The campaign also involves Cameroon’s diplomatic missions and Ministry of External Relations, with the stated objective of encouraging investigations, preserving evidence, tracing finances and, where legally justified by the evidence, arrests and prosecution.
Nsahlai’s latest international push builds on a legal campaign he has pursued for several years against individuals and organizations he accuses of supporting separatist violence in Cameroon.
In a 2024 interview with Cameroon Tribune, Nsahlai said his firm had filed numerous complaints against alleged separatists in the United States and Europe and described the 3D approach as “Disrupt, Dismantle, Defeat.”
His legal work has also included litigation in U.S. federal courts involving alleged Ambazonian support networks. Court records show Nsahlai represented the Cameroon Association of Victims of Ambazonia Terrorism in litigation against organizations and individuals accused by the plaintiffs of supporting violence in Cameroon.
The latest complaints draw on evidence contained in U.S. federal affidavits and terrorism-related proceedings, which Nsahlai says provide additional information concerning alleged overseas financing, organization and support for armed activity in Cameroon.
The significance of the latest actions will ultimately depend on how authorities in the respective jurisdictions assess the evidence and whether investigations result in prosecutions or other legal measures.
WHO IS EMMANUEL NSAHLAl?
Emmanuel Nsahlai is a Cameroon- and California-licensed lawyer whose practice has included representing victims of alleged violence connected to the Anglophone conflict.
He is the founder of Nsahlai Law Firm and has pursued cases in U.S. courts involving alleged Ambazonian support networks. His firm has also filed complaints with law-enforcement and governmental authorities in several countries concerning individuals it alleges are involved in financing or supporting separatist violence.
Nsahlai has described his international legal campaign as an effort to pursue accountability beyond Cameroon’s borders, particularly where alleged financial, logistical or organizational support is believed to originate.
The latest phase now extends the campaign to the United Kingdom, Canada and South Africa, adding three more jurisdictions to the growing network of countries in which Nsahlai says legal and diplomatic pressure is being applied.
