The Regional Delegate of CAMPOST for the North-West Region, Dohbit Sama Alfred, was shot in the leg by armed men on Friday, September 25, 2026, around Foncha Junction in Bamenda.
According to reports compiled by Laarry Times, the attackers stopped him and forced him out of his vehicle before demanding his phone. As he searched through his pockets for the phone, one of the assailants shot him in the right foot.
The attackers immediately fled the scene after the shooting. Dohbit Sama Alfred was initially taken to the PMI in Nkwen before an Army Rescue ambulance transferred him to another facility in Bamenda, where he is currently receiving treatment. Laarry Times has confirmed that he is responding very positively to treatment.
The CAMPOST Regional Delegate was not the only government official attacked that day. On the same Friday, Benyella Godwin Tafoang, Principal of Government Bilingual High School (GBHS) Atiela, was also shot while on his way to school.
Laarry Times gathered that the senior school administrator sustained gunshot wounds to both legs and his buttocks. He was also taken to the hospital and is responding positively to treatment.
Both government workers survived the attacks and are currently receiving treatment at a hospital in the North West Regional capital, Bamenda.
The two shootings are believed to have been carried out by suspected separatist fighters.
Dohbit Sama Alfred is from Balikumbat, in Ngoketunjia Division, while Principal Benyella Godwin Tafoang is from Bali Nyonga in Mezam Division.
Both victims are reported to be in stable condition and responding well to treatment.
