Residents of Oshie village in Njikwa Subdivision, Momo Division of the North West Region have taken a major step toward improved living conditions after Dreamland Connect PLC completed an electricity project.
The project was completed on October 7, 2026, after years of waiting by residents for electricity.
Executed under the Presidential Plan for the Reconstruction and Development of the North West and South West Regions (PPRD), the project forms part of the rehabilitation and extension of the Mbengwi-Oshie electricity network.
Dreamland Connect, headed by Chief Executive Officer Tantoh Edison Fru Ndi, executed the works, which include a 19.985-kilometre medium-voltage line, distribution networks, transformers and related electrical equipment.
The new infrastructure is expected to improve access to electricity for households and create better conditions for education, trade and small businesses in Oshie.
Residents, some of whom said they had spent years without electricity, welcomed the development as a major change for the community.
Beyond household use, the new power network is expected to support local entrepreneurs, artisans and traders whose activities have been constrained by the lack of electricity.
The project is part of broader government efforts under the PPRD to restore essential infrastructure and improve services in communities across the North West and South West regions.
For Dreamland Connect, the completion of the Oshie project represents another contribution to the expansion of basic infrastructure in the North West.
With the works now provisionally received, attention will shift to reliable supply and proper maintenance of the network to ensure residents can fully benefit from the investment.
For Oshie, electricity has finally arrived, opening the door to better services, stronger economic activity and new opportunities for residents.
