Former minister and MAG Construction Company Chairman and CEO Shey Jones Yembe congratulated the Nkambe Council for emerging third in Cameroon’s Clean City 2026 competition, earning the municipality a 60 million FCFA cash prize.
Shey Jones Yembe received the victorious delegation, led by Nkambe Mayor Nfor Musa Shey, in Yaoundé on Saturday, October 10, following the council’s success at the national competition held during the World Habitat Day celebrations in Maroua.
He praised the people of Nkambe for their resilience, hard work and commitment to peace, noting that the municipality’s achievement demonstrates that meaningful results are possible even in difficult circumstances.
Yembe described Nkambe’s performance as a source of pride for Donga-Mantung Division and the North West Region, adding that the council’s success should inspire other municipalities.
He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting peaceful initiatives and projects that promote development, pointing to the recently completed Ndu-Binka-Nkambe stretch of the Ring Road as an example of progress. MAG Construction Company executed and delivered the road section in record time, according to the statement.
Speaking on behalf of the council and the population, Mayor Nfor Musa Shey expressed gratitude to Yembe for receiving the delegation and recognizing the municipality’s achievement. He also reaffirmed the council’s loyalty and commitment to its development objectives.
Nkambe’s third-place finish in the Clean City 2026 competition reflects the collective efforts of the mayor, the municipal team and residents to improve sanitation and environmental cleanliness.
The 60 million FCFA award adds to the municipality’s recognition as one of the towns contributing to improved urban cleanliness in Cameroon, bringing pride to Donga-Mantung Division and the North West Region.
