The honours were bestowed at the 2nd Global Summit on Leadership in Higher Education Institutions, General Governance and Awards, hosted by Langbustech University (New Jersey, USA) at the Arrival Beach & Spa Hotel, Gulhi Island, Maldives.
The event, held from October 27–30, 2025, convened world education leaders, policy experts, and innovators under the theme “Leadership: A Catapulting Tool for Effectively Pivoting Higher Education Institutions at the Global Arena.”
Dr. Bonuh, visibly moved by the recognition, expressed deep gratitude for what he described as a team accomplishment built on years of collective effort.
“I am very grateful for the honours today, the award and the honorary doctorate. I know it’s not about me alone. It’s a team effort from everyone who has supported my vision and everything we’ve done together,” he said shortly after receiving the award.
He extended appreciation to Langbustech University for judging him deserving of the distinction, and to Dr. Linus Enobi Akepe for facilitating the nomination process. Dr. Bonuh also thanked Prof. Rémy Magloire Etoua, Rector of the University of Yaoundé I, for his encouragement and permission to participate in the global summit, as well as the Government of Cameroon and President Paul Biya for the enabling environment that allowed him to excel.
“I promise to work even harder so that more awards can come not just for me, but for Cameroonians in general, for my family, and for my community,” Dr. Bonuh affirmed.

His work bridges academia, civic leadership, and social innovation, positioning him among the country’s foremost advocates for transformational education.
The summit’s keynote was delivered by Prof. Ripu Ranjan Sinha, Chancellor of Langbustech University, who underscored the role of higher education in driving global sustainability. In his address titled “Leadership in Higher Education: Bridging Global Partnerships for Sustainable Development,” Prof. Sinha called for stronger collaboration between African, Asian, and American institutions, emphasizing that universities must evolve into “architects of change and guardians of knowledge.”

The event reinforced the message that education remains the cornerstone of sustainable development, a sentiment echoed by Prof. Sinha, who concluded that higher education must serve as “humanity’s greatest hope for a peaceful, prosperous, and inclusive future.”
